Pickathon!

Well, I obviously haven't been updating my playlists like a good blogger should, but I just got back from Pickathon in Portland. Wow, what an amazing festival. Six stages... constant music... lots of variety... probably the best music festival I've been to. (Don't tell the other festivals-- I don't want to hurt any feelings.)

I tried recording video with my digital camera for the first time. It was all experimental and I wasn't sure what would happen. These are short clips of just a few of the artists I saw. I recorded a lot more footage, but ran out of memory, so I had to delete a bunch. Enjoy the show. It's a bit choppy, but it's my first attempt at movie making.

Oh yeah... it's 11 minutes long. So get a beverage and stay awhile.

Playlist April 13, 2008

**This week's show was fun. Ok, it's always fun. But it was MORE fun because my friend and fellow radio personality (from KQED), Martin Brown, joined me on the air. He helped pick out music (sorry Marty, couldn't play X at 7 AM on Sunday morn!) and helped read some of the PSA's. He did squeeze a few minor sound effects in there, but I kept him pretty well in check... which isn't always easy, as people who know Marty can testify. Again, I played new releases from She & Him and the South Austin Jug Band. Otherwise, most of the usual Crooked Highway stuff. Email me with suggestions to change things up a bit for the next show!
